I grew up in the church and was taught from an early age that it was important to read your bible and pray
but I don’t recall anyone ever actually teaching me how to go about having a “quiet time.” I remember as
a teenager being very overwhelmed with the Bible, not knowing where to start and being unsure of how
reading it would really help me connect with God. Through the First 21 I was coached on how to actually
connect with the Father by spending time in his presence. He spoke to me and related to me in new ways
through the process. My view of time in the word and prayer is changing from one of duty and obedience
to one of love, desire, and connection.
